Alpine-inspired accommodations are the norm for Vail, but when the Arrabelle at Vail Square, a Rock Resort, opened earlier this year, it was the first luxury property to make its mark on the ski mecca in 25 years. An ideal second home for those who can't get enough of the slopes, the Arrabelle is a true ski-in/ski-out resort, minutes from Vail Mountain and the Eagle Bahn Gondola. All residents have access to the hotel's pool, spa and fitness facilities.

When the InterContinental Montelucia in Paradise Valley opens this August, 34 Spanish-style luxury villas will also spring up, ranging from 3,800 to 4,700 square feet. Perks like a 24-hour attended gatehouse, along with a private pool and spa, are selling points, but the most attractive aspect might be that these units aren't cookie cutter. With the help of Studio B Design's on-site center, residents can choose from hand-painted tiles to decorate the stairwell to stucco walls to farmhouse sinks, to make their own distinct Spanish-inspired mark on their new home.

For those who want to buy into Fairmont's opulent and fabled Plaza Hotel, there are two options: the private residence condominiums starting from $2.5 million, or the more sensibly priced pied à terre hotel condominium suites for $1.5 million. In the private residences, marked by a private lobby and 14 recessed penthouses, the spaces are decidedly modern, swathed in décor from the Versace Home Collection. Bathrooms are derived from mosaics found in the Plaza's original lobby. The condo suites aren't that much shabbier, what with their 24-karat gold faucets, a duplex with private terrace and personal butler. The Plaza can easily rent out your home while you are away.
