In 2009, Banff-based Canadian Mountain Holidays debuts a heli-skiing trip-by-request called Chicks in the Chopper. But for women who want to wing it (or, more to the point, "chop" it) without organizing nine like-minded friends, CMH has two scheduled women-only heli-hiking trips a year: Bodacious in the Bobbie Burns (Sept. 4-7, 2009) and the Bodacious in the Bugaboos (Sept. 4-7, 2008, and Sept. 7-10, 2009). The former includes crossing a 160-foot cable and wood-slat bridge 2,000 feet above ground, rappelling, and mountain climbing along a via ferrata system of iron ladders and cables. All trips include flying into remote mountain areas by helicopter. At night, guests socialize and relax at one of CMH's lodges. The cost starts at $2,500.
