The self-proclaimed “cowboy capital of the world,” this small town located in Texas’ Hill Country will spur even the most hardened city slicker to a good time. The town is crammed with dude ranches, rodeos, honky tonks, and barbeque restaurants. “This little town is truly rustic and my kind of place,” says Lisa Dunford, who co-authored the Lonely Planet guide to the Southwest.
