Once touted as the world’s fastest roller coaster (it is currently 4th on the list), Dodonpa races along at a maximum speed of 106.9 mph and take just 1.8 seconds to get there, the fastest acceleration of any coaster. After launching, the coaster makes its way straight up a 170-foot hill, then straight down at roaring speeds, where passengers will then twist and turn along the 3,900-foot track for just under one minute. Located at the foot of Mount Fuji, Dodonpa also offers some of the best views in all of Japan. This sit-down steel coaster has been described as the most intense and insane coaster in the world and is a must for thrill seekers and roller coaster buffs around the world.
