Ladakh, India: Snow Leopard

Every year, Rodney Jackson, world expert on snow leopards, leads a tour through the Ladakh region of India where participants spend two weeks tracking this endangered and elusive creature. Nearly all of the time on this tour is devoted to hiking, so before you sign-up make sure that you can handle the rough terrain and the frigid mountain air. In addition to camping, you also spend the night at homes in Ladakhi villages, and will experience both the culture and wildlife of the Himalayas.
