Duomo (aka Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta) - Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro
Adjacent to the Duomo is the entrance to the
Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro. The holdings here are exceptional in quality and quantity: The amount of the treasure is so great that the museum rotates its exhibits annually over a multiple-year cycle. An additional reason to visit is that the museum gives access to the Duomo's
Sacristy , beautifully decorated with
frescoes by Luca Giordano and paintings by
Domenichino. In the sacristy, you can also arrange an appointment to visit Santa Restituta and the Cappella Minutolo if you find them closed.
