Small but intriguing, the MAM in Ibirapuera Park has two galleries that it devotes to ever-changing exhibits of modern work, be it in the form of painting, sculpture, video, textile, or some other medium. At any one time, each of the main building's two spacious and well-lit galleries is given over to a particular artist. Check the website for upcoming exhibits. There's also a small library with an excellent collection of art books in various languages. Surrounding the museum is a sculpture garden featuring 28 works by different Brazilian artists. Though not often on display, much of the gallery's permanent collection is online. Check the website. Allow 45 minutes.
