Malaysian environmentalists have teamed up with local travel agents to organize a series of package trips centered around Earth Day. The environmentally themed trips include diving, clean-ups and educational activities for the children of island villages. The Earth Day packages include stays at the Panuba Resort on lush Tioman Island—made famous in the 1958 film "South Pacific"—and allow visitors to both explore and help clean local coral reefs and beaches as they learn about the rich island ecosystems. As goes without saying, all travel associated with the trip is carpooled.
