10. Vasco da Gama Bridge, Lisbon, Portugal

This elegant cable-stayed bridge spans the Tagus River near Lisbon. Its total length is 10.7 miles, making it the longest bridge in Europe. It carries six lanes of traffic and opened on March 29, 1998, just prior to Expo 98 in Lisbon.
