Red Rock Canyon

Hike any of the different hiking trails through 500 million years of geological history where you will view plant and animal life. You may even see waterfalls and ponds depending on the time of the year. Red Rock Canyon is a bed of an ancient deep sea where the water evaporated and formed boulders and pinnacles that range in color from red to white. Go from mountain to prairie when you go a few miles south to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Also hike off to Bonnie Springs, an old Nevada 1880Â?s western mining town reproduction. The scenery is breathtaking. Stop at the visitors center at the parks entrance and pick up a trail map, plant & wildlife information and history of the area.
