If one D.C. restaurant is set to thrive in the Age of Obama, it is this Southern-cooking establishment run by another Chicago transplant, Art Smith. The dining area is lined with dramatic oil portraits of those who have, like Obama has pledged to do, “brought people together” (Martin Luther King, Jr., Gandhi among them) and the menu blends Southern roots with Chesapeake Bay classics like Rappahannock River Oysters with pimento corn mignonette.
