Four Seasons Hotel, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon; New York" />With its I.M. Pei design and views of Central Park, the Four Seasons in Midtown East is one of the most striking hotels in New York. And it got an extra infusion of hipness (and great P.R.) when its new restaurant L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon opened to much fanfare in September 2006. The hotel reserves a block of tables for its guests, but be sure to lock it down when you reserve your room. A fan of the French-Japanese-inspired small plates, James Beard Foundation VP Mitchell Davis says it's his favorite new NYC restaurant. "The nice thing about eating there is you sit at a counter (sushi style) and you get to meet the people around you, like at a bar, only without them being drunk."
