Given its setting high in the Canadian Rockies, it would've been difficult to design a poor course at Jasper. As he did repeatedly through his career, Stanley Thompson took a great site and created an extraordinary layout by working on difficult terrain without the benefit of heavy machinery. "Jasper has beautiful routing and it's a great walking course," says Tom McBroom. "From the Fairmont Hotel to the moose and elk that often walk the course at dusk, it's a special place to be."
