You cannot beat the location of this newly opened hotel, smack in the heart of the city and only steps from most Naples attractions. It occupies the upper floors of one of the city's landmarks, the Galleria Umberto I, which explains its hidden entrance inside the gallery and up an early-20th-century elevator. The hotel is lavishly decorated in an eclectic style, mixing baroque and Liberty elements, and each of its rooms is dedicated to an artist, from Klee to van Gogh. Rooms with interior windows that open onto the gallery can be a bit dark, while those facing the street are a bit noisy; but the quality of the furnishings and decor -- with four-poster beds, elegant marble floors, and state-of-the-art bathrooms -- more than compensate for it.
