One of the four or five leading hotels of Córdoba, this first-class member of a chain stands near the city close to the Guadalquivir River. Impressive architecturally, its rooms open onto attractive cityscape vistas. Its most alluring feature, especially in summer, is a swimming pool set within an Andalusian courtyard. We're not too fond of the place when there's a convention going on, but when not overburdened, the staff is most helpful and knowledgeable about Córdoba. Bedrooms are midsize and attractively furnished in a mix of Andalusian traditional and contemporary, with much use of blue tiles and wooden furnishings. Each comes with a tiled bathroom containing a tub/shower combo. If you're staying in for the night, the on-site restaurant, Córdoban, serves a first-class medley of Spanish and international specialties, and the garden bar is idyllic for a drink before or after dinner.
