The Experience

An elite business hotel in one of the world's premier business cities, the Conrad is one of Hong Kong's best places for getting in, getting settled and getting things done. Roughly 95 percent of the Conrad's business is business—both hosting the meetings themselves and giving international executives a place to prepare and unwind. And nearly all of the Conrad's clients fly in from abroad; nearly half arrive from the U.S. and Europe alone. Everyone who comes to Hong Kong for business at least considers staying at the Conrad.

The Rooms

Surprisingly spacious in what normally feels like a crowded city. Every unit has a well-designed workspace with a comfortable leather chair and broadband internet access, plus marble bathrooms with a deep bath and walk-in shower. Since the Conrad's lowest rooms are on the 40th floor (private residences occupy the levels below), every unit has a spectacular view. The executive floors add butler service and a complimentary lounge for breakfast, tea and cocktails.

The Service

Not surprisingly, the Conrad's business center excels, offering translation and secretarial services, computer-equipped office spaces, portable computer and mobile phone rentals, and a whole floor of meeting rooms. Airport pickup is easily arranged; there's also a free shuttle from the Hong Kong's central train station. The health club is compact but well-equipped, with a heated outdoor pool, steam room and sauna. Five dining options range from the renovated Golden Leaf and its authentic Cantonese food to an eighth-floor brasserie with views stunning enough to match the food.

The Highlights

The location is ideal for more than the view. Steps from Hong Kong Park for recreation, the Conrad is also directly attached to Pacific Place, which combines one of Hong Kong's best shopping facilities with three major office towers, all linked to two key metro lines. Even better is coming back to the hotel for dinner at Nicholini's, where executive chef Sandro Falbo combines Tuscan traditions with playful creativity. Specials, unlike many kitchens, truly are special here; barracuda filet with lemon and pesto washed down with Falbo's homemade liqueur is a rare pleasure—and an excellent way to celebrate closing a new deal.
