This small hotel -- best described as a contemporary mountain lodge -- feels right at home in this old mining town, with natural wood beams, wood floors, handsome wood furniture, and a comfortable but upscale feel. The Western-style rooms have a rustic appearance, with four-poster hickory or apple-wood beds, down comforters and pillows, excellent sound systems, shared balconies, and twice-daily maid service. Some units have wet bars, refrigerators, and wood-burning stoves. There's a red rock and concrete fireplace in the lobby that stands 28-feet tall, a hot tub on a second-floor deck that offers a spectacular view of Aspen Mountain, ski storage, and a heated locker for ski boots. An excellent gourmet breakfast is served daily.
