The walls and foundations of this government-rated three-star, four-story hotel date from the 15th century, but much of what you'll experience today is a post-millennium improvement. The quietest rooms are those overlooking the rear, with views of the graveyard where the wife of Mozart is buried. Rooms are pleasant and decorated with reproductions of country-Austrian furniture. Bathrooms contain tub/shower combinations and are well organized. Breakfasts are generous; the staff is helpful. The building's ground-floor cafe, the Amadeus, serves drinks and bistro-style food throughout the day and evening.
