This is an unusual hotel, crafted and managed with a bit more imagination than equivalently priced inns within its immediate, somewhat remote, neighborhood. It presents a utilitarian, white-stucco facade to a suburban neighborhood southwest of Innsbruck's center, near the town's Olympic stadium, about a 20-minute walk from the center. Inside you'll find a carefully organized and thrifty interior, wherein a bar and cafe near the reception area function as the hotel's social center. Members of the Binder family recently installed an elevator in this older building and have renovated its public areas so frequently that not many traces remain to hint at the building's original construction. In distinct opposition to this, bedrooms run the gamut of stylishness. Most desirable are the recently rebuilt space-age modern rooms, with names like Maple, Aluminum, Pink, and Turquoise. Older rooms still retain a dark-paneled, somewhat dowdy version of an alpine-rustic decor that hasn't changed much since the 1970s. The higher you climb within this place, the better accessorized and more modern the bedrooms become. At the very top, just under the eaves, is a pair of stylish "loft-rooms," with high ceilings and waterbeds.
