This recently enlarged hotel is a well-designed cross between a chalet and a mountain villa. The interior has some attractive antiques, oriental rugs, and beamed and paneled ceilings. The generally spacious rooms have terraces and lovely interiors; those in the newer wing are more up-to-date. Nonsmoking rooms are also rented, and some rooms are suitable for persons with disabilities. Management has tried to create the aura of a "living room" in the bedrooms, making you want to linger instead of using it just as a crash pad for the night. Of course, nothing in the room can compete with the private balcony overlooking the Stein or the imposing Kaiser Mountains. Bathrooms are medium in size, with tub/shower combinations. The hotel restaurant's food is Tyrolean and international, and the menu is varied and interesting. On some winter evenings, the public rooms seem more like a house party than a hotel. Summer brings tables and umbrellas out on the lawns. The hotel overlooks the children's ski school next to the Hahnenkamm cableway. It prides itself on its beauty center and health club, which is very much a part of its allure.
