Set in a 13th-century castle in the Son Vida Hills, on a secluded hilltop overlooking Palma, this hotel, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, commands the most panoramic views on the island. It recently underwent massive renovations. Several rooms are in a modern wing, a pleasing reproduction of a Spanish hacienda. Inside, the public rooms are swathed in sumptuous fabrics, Oriental rugs, and chandeliers. Guest rooms in the new building are not quite as distinctive as those in the castle. Many rooms have private balconies or terraces.
