Not dead-center in the town of Banff but rather a pleasant though still walkable remove from the hubbub, the Fox is relatively new. The Fox -- and its sister properties the Banff Lodging Company, the Banff Caribou Lodge, the Banff Ptarmigan Inn, and Rundle Manor, among others -- offer pleasant, contemporary accommodations with a good complement of amenities. The location is handy, the rooms sleek and comfortable; it's mostly suites, meaning most rooms have kitchen facilities. And while the facilities qualify as luxury, it's nowhere near the price. A man-made replica "hot springs" completes the package in the basement; the faux rock walls are kind of corny, but the hot water still sooths ski-weary bones very nicely.
