The Acropolis is nothing if not quirky, and more than a little chaotic, but it has a charm all its own, with its crumbling columns and peeling paintwork, and is well worth a stay for lovers of "new experience" hotels. If you plan to travel with your pet, this is also one of the few places in Barcelona will welcome them. The overgrown garden and rustic kitchen are both communal, and the bedrooms are simply but comfortably decorated. Half of them have en-suite bathrooms but the place is spotlessly clean and sharing shouldn't be a problem. The best room has its own terrace with wonderful views.
