Opened in May 2002 in a blaze of glory not dissimilar to a well-received couture collection fresh off the catwalk, the Prestige is already well established on the scene of all that is hip and fab. It has some nice touches such as the Zeroom breakfast bar and library where you can enjoy laid-back mornings and the Oriental garden where you can also sip coffee amid the ivory sun loungers and bamboo planters. There's an "Ask Me" service ethic -- staff vows to hunt down any sort of information on the city you need, whether it's the opening hours of a museum or the nearest kosher restaurant. The Japanese-inspired bedrooms are sleek and spacious with all the added extras one could possibly need for a good night's sleep. No doubt about it, this is one hotel that takes its name very seriously indeed. All that's missing is a fancy restaurant with a celebrity chef at the helm.
