Super-cozy rooms with loft beds greet you at this tiny gem tucked in the hutong. The location is excellent, about a stone's throw away from the most popular, cafe-lined hutong in Beijing. Rooms are set up with desks and sofas on the main floor and small ladders that lead to beds perched on cozy overhanging lofts. But be forewarned, perhaps in an effort to convey an "authentic" hutong experience, each room is equipped with a squatter toilet! Noise may be a problem since all rooms are adjacent to the small bar and restaurant, but this place gets kudos for character -- an old tree sprouts out of one corner of the kitchen.
