Formerly the Hotel Liget, Ibis Heroes Square is an unusual modern design by the Hungarian architect Jozsef Finta. The location is excellent, across the street from the zoo, the Museum of Fine Arts, and Heroes' Square. Accor bought the property in 2007 and has completely remodeled it in the company's new Accor "poppy" theme. The color scheme is poppy red with beiges and tans throughout the hotel and rooms. Each room is 20 sq. m (215 sq. ft.) furnished with modern sleek furniture and wood floors. The terra-cotta, beige walls and deep red curtains are quietly soothing. Bathrooms are equipped with showers only, no tubs in any of the rooms. Unlike its predecessor, the hotel is focusing on business and leisure travelers, not families. Both smoking and nonsmoking floors are offered. For the best view of the zoo across the street, request room 420.
