This award-winning boutique hotel is, like Alta Bay, situated in the prestigious residential area of Higgovale, with beautiful views of the city, harbor, and mountain. Each bedroom is the size of a minisuite, with expensive touches and luxurious fabrics throughout: Beds are dressed in pale cotton linen, and bathrooms have under-floor heated marble and custom-made bathtubs. The best rooms on the second floor have balconies overlooking the city -- ask for one (no. 1, 2, or 3). Only two rooms have twin sleeping facilities. The plunge pool is surrounded with timber decking and has a comfortable outdoor lounge area replete with billowing curtains -- a calm oasis from bustling Kloof Street, with its excellent restaurant choices, a short stroll away. Despite its small size, service is excellent, but Four Rosmead and Cape Cadogan are more laid-back and offer better value.
