Streamlined, efficient, and relatively cost-effective, this hotel, which opened in 2000, is often cited as one of the less expensive accommodations along Seven Mile Beach. Rising five sand-colored stories above the southern end of the fabled beach, it follows a time-tested, generic, and familiar layout that has proven successful in hundreds of other locations within North America. The comfortable bedrooms each have a large writing table, a boon to business travelers, and are comfortably but predictably outfitted in tones of blue and white. Unfortunately, none of the rooms have a balcony or veranda to let the light in, and only some have worthwhile views. But all units have refrigerators, coffeemakers, and microwaves. One- and two-bedroom suites also contain stoves and dishwashers. There's a small pool, direct access to the beach along a sandy footpath, and a simple restaurant and bar set beneath the palm fronds of an open-sided bohio beside the pool. The more extensive bar and restaurant choices of the also-recommended Marriott lie immediately next door.
