Casa Luna Pila Seca and Casa Luna Quebrada are both striking to look at and fun to stay in. Both are just a few blocks below the main square. The house on Calle Quebrada is a large property, enjoys lots of open space, and is designed in the hacienda style. The original house on Pila Seca is more playful and has lovely nooks and crannies and riotous vegetation. Guest rooms in both houses are roughly the same in size and amenities. They are great fun -- lots of color, lots of detail. Most have some Mexican theme but not exclusively. The owner, Dianne Kushner, has a real talent for bringing together disparate design elements and making them look like they naturally belong together. Most rooms are large and come with a king bed or two twins, down comforters, gas fireplaces, and large bathrooms with shower/tub combinations. Most have private patios. The common areas are lovely and relaxing and get you right into that mañana attitude. Breakfasts are delicious, and cooking classes are sometimes offered.
