Part of the Orient Express chain, this English country-style inn on the Miles River is richly appointed and designed for stylish comfort. There are four tiers of rooms, from standard to master suite. At every level, you'll find plenty of space, river views, and luxurious linens. Some units have gas fireplaces. Amenities, such as the new Linden Spa, are fabulous and will please the most discriminating guest, although some may find service a bit frosty for the Eastern Shore. It's a short walk from downtown, though right next to the maritime museum. There's access to golf, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, and a helicopter pad.
