The Plinio hotel is built into a steep hillside, so it's a bit of a climb from the parking lot up to the guest rooms and restaurant. That's fitting, considering that rooms have the feel of a treehouse. Floors and walls are polished hardwood, there are rooms with tree-trunk pillars, and the whole complex is set in lush forest. The hotel's suites are the best value. These are built on either two or three levels. Both options have sleeping lofts; the three-story rooms also have rooftop decks. Behind the hotel is a private reserve with 15km (9 1/3 miles) of trails and, at the top of the hill, a 15m-tall (49-ft.) observation tower with an incredible view. In addition to the popular
Plinio Restaurant, there's a poolside grill where lunches are served. Plinio is just outside of Quepos on the road toward the national park, so it's a bit far from the park entrance and beaches.
