Built as an upscale inn in 1994, the Bradley nicely blends into the surrounding historic neighborhood, just northeast of the Pearl Street Mall. The striking Great Room and uniquely decorated guest rooms are all adorned with bold contemporary art from local galleries, and it's all for sale. Some of the rooms have hot tubs and balconies; all of them have standout Bob Timberlake furnishings from North Carolina, rainforest shower heads, and tiny sleeping cat sculptures at the foot of the bed. The eclectic inn has a very homey feel, and the breakfasts -- featuring huge fresh fruit salads and bread that is baked on-site -- and the nightly wine and cheese are big events.
