Frommer's Very Highly Recommended
The Pucic Palace is already a legend and the favorite Dubrovnik accommodations for the well-heeled. Formerly the home of a Dubrovnik nobleman, the hotel combines the cachet of a Renaissance palace with contemporary creature comforts, but it falls short of what you'd expect for the prices Pucic charges for its guest rooms. Guest room furnishings are first-rate and bathrooms are loaded with toiletries and lined with non-skid tiles and tasteful mosaics, but we're talking showers here. The hotel maintains a yacht in the harbor for its guests to use; the terrace has a great view of the city; and you are staying in a historic monument. Service is impeccable; but you'll have to decide for yourself if those things justify the hotel's sky-high tariffs.
