Opposite the Scott Monument, the Old Waverley dates from 1848, overlooking Princes Street Gardens and Old Town beyond. The refurbished guest rooms are well maintained and comfortable; some look directly onto the Scott Monument and the castle, and the corner rooms are the most impressive. Each unit comes with a combination tub/shower. Online bookings appear to offer significant savings over the standard rates.
