This little haven is an exquisite, adults-only waterfront property right on Florida Bay -- a choice location that offers a stunning sunset view overlooking Everglades National Park. Highly stylized, modern rooms and suites dot the lush 2-acre property, lined with native vegetation and fruit-bearing trees from which you're free to sample. An orchid house has more than 350 flowers. Lounge chairs, hammocks, a freshwater pool (heated in winter and cooled in summer) with fresh fruit poolside daily, a Jacuzzi, and a private beach that's larger than the Marriott's are available for those who want to relax. For the more adventurous, the owners will organize excursions to the Everglades and the backcountry. Kayaks, paddleboats, and tennis are included at no extra charge. Smoking is not permitted indoors. For meals, you'll need to visit a nearby restaurant -- three are within walking distance and the exceptional staff will give you inside tips -- and discounts -- to their favorite local eateries and watering holes. An art gallery doubles as the lobby and guests get a 10% discount.
