Frommer's Very Highly Recommended
Hyatt took the Levantehaus, a traditional 1912 warehouse, and transformed it into one of Hamburg's best government-rated five-star hotels. In the heart of Hamburg, close to the rail station, the Hyatt occupies the top seven floors of the building, which means rooms with views. Personalized service, an elegant atmosphere, and an intriguing cuisine make Hyatt a favorite of both commercial travelers and visitors. Rooms are somewhat minimalist but nonetheless tastefully and comfortably appointed. Even the standard rooms are large, each with a contemporary bathroom with a tub/shower combination and lots of gadgets. The bathrooms are the most luxurious of any hotel in Hamburg, occupying a third of the room space. The suites at the Hyatt feature such additional facilities as whirlpools and saunas. A special feature is Club Olympus with its mammoth large pool, gym and aerobic studio, and massages and beauty treatments. At Apples Restaurant, Mediterranean dishes are creatively prepared in an open kitchen in front of guests.
