Just adjacent to the Galaxy Hotel in the far north end of the Old Quarter, Chains First Eden is a longtime popular budget choice in Hanoi (about 10 years old now). The place is a little worn, and the rooms aren't spectacular, but the price is right. Everything is "good enough" and the location is perfect for exploring the Old Quarter. Rooms are a worn, familiar standard, like a larger minihotel room with thin office carpeting and Chinese furnishings. All bathrooms have tub/shower combination units and plenty of counter space. The hotel is popular with groups, and the friendly staff speaks English well. Discounts are available for longer stays.
