Three blocks, or about a 10- to 15-minute walk, from Waikiki Beach lies this 1960s apartment hotel, run since 1964 by the Chun family. Overlooking the Ala Wai Canal, the six-story building can be noisy, but air-conditioning drowns out the street noise and the location is within walking distance of Waikiki attractions, dining, and shopping. The 315-square-foot studios are composed of an immaculately clean bedroom/living room combo, with a bed on one side and a full kitchen across the room. The one-bedroom units are larger and have separate bedrooms (great for families). Some of the rooms have been upgraded, thus the range in prices. Tip: If you're on a budget, ask for the \"Manager's Special Rates\" at $79 for a studio or $89 for a one-bedroom (not deluxe upgraded units, but still clean and very functional). The hotel has also added a spa with massage services and a \"floating salon,\" a chamber that looks like a hot tub with a lid on it; you lie in it, in the dark, in warm water.
