In the middle of nowhere lies this nearly 2-acre tropical botanical garden with a main house and several bungalows dotting the property. Just a couple of miles down the serpentine Hana Highway from Huelo, in the remote area of Kailua, is an unlikely place for accommodations (it's a 30-min. drive to the nearest beach and 1 hr. to Hana), but for those who want to get away from it all, this could be your place. The small cabanas range from a two-bedroom cottage with a full kitchen to compact accommodations with basic kitchenette amenities. The Main House has three bedrooms and a full kitchen. They all face out into gorgeous gardens. In the midst of the botanical garden is a pool, with a cabana and covered barbecue area, and a hot tub. The garden sits right on the Hana Highway, so ask for a unit away from the road. Unfortunately, they have a 2-night minimum. Even if you don't stay here, stop by and visit the garden -- hosts Keone and Cheryl love to show people their piece of paradise.
