Budget travelers take note: Here's a small apartment complex located right on the water (no white-sand beach out front, but what do you want at these eye-popping prices?). You can take a 10-minute stroll to the closest white-sand beach or a 20-minute walk to the center of Lahaina town. The units are small (400 sq. ft.) but clean and filled with everything you should need for your vacation: full kitchens, views of the ocean (in most units), and separate bedrooms, all in a quiet neighborhood. There's a public phone by the office (none in the rooms, and no TVs either). I recommend the Ginger Hideaway unit, with windows on two sides overlooking the ocean, for just $156. Families will like the Pineapple \"Sweet,\" the only two-bedroom unit (800 sq. ft.), for just $156.
