President Clinton called this first-rate hotel home during his brief stay in Saigon and, more recently, British footballer David Beckham stayed here (the hotel was nearly overrun). Everything is big, flashy, and deluxe in this 550-room hotel (the largest in Vietnam), and a stay at the New World guarantees luxury and bang for your buck. The hotel is in the center of town, far east of Dong Khoi and just a short walk from Ben Thanh Market. The impeccable, plush rooms are done in a soothing array of neutrals, and the bathrooms are a sharp contrast in black-and-gray marble. One-bedroom suites come at a great discount and, with all the extra space and good views, are worth the upgrade. The four executive floors, with an executive lounge, have an impressive list of benefits. If convenience is your game, it's well worth the bump up from a standard double room. The staff snaps, too, and service is ultra-efficient. Ask right away if you'd like a nonsmoking room. The lounge area has good jazz late into the evening, and the Hisago Japanese restaurant is one of the most popular in the city. The hotel fitness center and professional massage facility are tops, and a kid's club offers all kinds of programs.
