Originally connected to the adjacent Caferaga Medresi below (when it served as a dormitory for students there), the building was later converted to a hospital and then in 1972, a hostel. As of 2006, the hotel, which sits opposite the Ayasofya, joins the list of brand-new, Ottoman-influenced small hotels. Rooms are comparatively large, although the bathrooms, outfitted with albeit new European sit-in bathtubs, are a bit tight. Behind the hotel is an unexpected garden patio restaurant that sits above the undulating domes of Caferaga Medresi. During summer's eves, the hotel hosts a lone whirling dervis and hands-on ebru demonstrations.
