The Spanish have once again invaded Jamaica. Iberostar, the Spanish hotel chain, is in the vanguard of numerous projects from other Spanish hotel companies that are planning to open properties in Jamaica in the future, including Barcelo and Grupo Pinero. Iberostar currently operates some 100 first-class and deluxe hotels in 13 countries around the world. This new Mo Bay deluxe hotel is operating as an all-inclusive, catering to well-heeled singles, couples, and families, and it's also aggressively pursuing honeymooners. A series of nearly three dozen suites are among Jamaica's finest, each elegantly decorated and spacious. Next in line is 100 oceanview rooms, each with balcony or terrace. The garden and pool view rooms are also desirable and, of course, less expensive.
