One of the finest guesthouses in Windermere, this well-run inn provides hotel-like standards at B&B prices. Opposite St. John's Church, halfway between the villages of Bowness and Windermere, Fir Trees is a Victorian house furnished with antiques. Proprietors Bob and Bea Towers offer a warm welcome and beautifully maintained bedrooms. Some units are large enough for families; a few have four-poster beds. The Towers provide their guests with information on restaurants, country pubs, or where to go and what to see.
