Book a room at El Rancho, and you'll book yourself an apartment suite, complete with kitchen, making it a top choice for families. An intimate group of villas, the resort is located on a beautiful stretch of soft-sand beach, immediately to the north of the Zona Dorada. All units feature the same traditional Mexican-style decor, with colorful fabric accents, and are very well maintained. The difference in price depends on your view -- garden, pool, or ocean. Each features two levels, with two spacious bedrooms (one with a king-size bed, the other with two queen-size beds) as well as two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living/dining area. The gardens are lovely, and the on-site restaurant is one level up, making it an ideal spot for watching sunsets. Note that this is also a timeshare resort, so be prepared for a sales pitch if you stay here.
