Formerly known as the Camino Real, this grande dame of Mazatlán hotels changed management in 2004, and underwent a much-needed renovation. Considered the most sophisticated place to stay in town, it's the best choice for those seeking seclusion. It has the best location in Mazatlán, on a rocky cliff overlooking the sea, and the beach edges a small cove that's perfect for swimming. Marble-floored hallways lead to rooms decorated in light, neutral colors, each with bathtubs and showers, large closets, and vanity tables. Junior suites have king-size beds and couches. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the heart of the Zona Dorada. Higher rates are for rooms with an ocean view; other rooms have a marina view.
