The best lodging deal is at this little hotel at the top of town, reached from the lakefront by Bellagio's narrow stepped streets. A snug lobby, with a big fireplace, opens to a gravelly grapevine-covered terrace, where you're welcome to bring your own food for an alfresco meal. Most of the rooms also overlook the terrace (a flight and a half with no elevator). Most are quite large and bright, with big windows (those on the upper floors provide nice views from balconies over the town and lake beyond, especially nos. 18-20) and furnishings like solid old armoires and, in the better rooms, box-spring-and-mattress beds rather than Italy's usual cots. Some are on the airshaft, however, or come with no window whatsoever. The place is basic, but comfortable enough.
