The Villa Serbelloni is one of Italy's grandest hotels, surrounded by beautiful gardens and manicured lawns on the lakeshore. For those looking for less grandiose and expensive accommodations than those the main hotel provides (while still enjoying all the hotel's amenities, including its lovely lakeside pool, private beach, fitness club with sauna, game room, and frescoed salons), the Serbelloni has recently added these stylish apartments in an outbuilding on a hill above the lake. All have sitting areas and either separate bedrooms or alcove sleeping areas and are nicely decorated with terra-cotta floors and attractive rattan furniture. All have large kitchenettes; the best have partial views of the lake (no. 10 gets the best vistas, while no. 8 is larger and has some partial views, including from the bedroom). Although rentals are officially by the week, shorter stays can be arranged when space is available. Even when the main hotel is closed (mid-Nov to Mar) and the Residence stays open, there's always a section containing a covered grottolike pool, spa with massage and beauty treatments, and a lakeview restaurant open to residence guests.
