Occupying a 4-hectare (10-acre) Mediterranean garden, this is a plush Garden of Eden for the principality. It doesn't have the age or tradition of other Societé des Bains de Mer properties, such as the Paris and the Hermitage, but it seemingly offers everything else -- and is the most stunningly modern resort Monaco has ever seen. Built right on the seashore, this is the first time in 75 years the society has launched a new hotel. Its aim is to recapture some of the chic and splendor of the 1920s. Its neoclassical architecture, with arcades and colonnades, has created a new landmark in Monaco. The sumptuous nature of the resort is reflected in its waterfalls, terraces, spacious bedrooms, exotic woods, lavish marble, and even an indoor pool covered with a monumental glass dome, along with a luxurious spa and fitness club. Of the beautifully furnished bedrooms, more than 3/4 of them open onto sea views. Rooms are decorated with white oak furnishings, often sandstone floors, and soft Mediterranean pastels. The casino and the famous Jimmy'z Disco have made the hotel one of the hot addresses for after-dark diversions.
