This six-story hotel was built in 1972, not far from Munich's main railway station. Positioned midway between three- and four-star status by the local tourist authorities, it manages to combine coziness with a modern and efficient design and is a pleasant contrast to the congestion that's the norm all around it. Bedrooms are unfussy, uncomplicated, and blandly comfortable. All units contain bathrooms with shower units. No meals are served other than a buffet breakfast, although there's a simple beer-hall-style restaurant on the building's street level, which is popular with the crowd from the many nearby offices and businesses.
